Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to screens this autumn and the much-anticipated list of professional dancers has been revealed.

Show favourite and HELLO! Online blogger Ola Jordan is one of the eight female stars who will return, while her husband James, who has been a Strictly regular for eight years, rejected the offer by the BBC to come back on a reduced role.

However, James suggested otherwise with a message he posted on Twitter. “WELL TWEEPS Yes it’s true I WILL NOT be returning to ‘BURN THE FLOOR’…. Sorry, I mean ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ However…….. ………do not believe everything the BBC have written in their statement,” he wrote.

Strictly Come Dancing has announced the addition of two new professional dancers to its line-up for the 2014 series as it waves goodbye to two popular dancers in the shape of Artem Chigvintsev and James Jordan.

We know you guys love Strictly and always want us to keep you updated with all the latest news so we’ve done some digging to find out more about the show’s two new professionals – Joanne Clifton and Tristan MacManus.

Keep reading to find out about them both as we give you a little overview of who you’ll spending the autumn and winter nights with.

Joanne Clifton

Joanne Clifton

It’ll come as no surprise, given her surname, that Joanne is the sister of 2013 new arrival Kevin Clifton. This marks the first time siblings have been on the professional dancer line-up in Strictly history.

Joanne is World Ballroom Showdance Champion and has competed in over 20 countries around the world. She has won numerous awards during her career to date and is a five-time British Champion, European Professional Champion and was recently crowned World Dancesport Games champion in Taiwan.

Not bad credentials we don’t think. Joanne’s addition to the team also means that there will be 8 female professionals and 7 male professionals for the new series.

Tristan MacManus

Tristan MacManus

Irish-born Tristan is no stranger to dancing on TV as he was a professional on Dancing With The Stars for three years. His dance partners have included Gladys Knight and Pamela Anderson.

Tristan began dancing in his hometown Bray, Co. Wicklow before he competed around Europe winning numerous juvenile, junior and amateur competitions.

In his career to date he has appeared in many stage shows including Dirty Dancing and Burn The Floor. We’re expecting him to bring the luck of the Irish to the Strictly dance floor.

Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One and BBC One HD in September for its new series.

Celebrity dancers have not yet been confirmed.

However Strictly star James Jordan will not be returning to the hit show – but his wife Ola has signed up for another season, BBC bosses have confirmed.

James’s departure comes after reports he had a series of clashes with show judge and tour director Craig Revel Horwood.

His Polish-born wife Ola, 31, has signed up to appear on the show despite speculation she might quit in loyalty to her husband.

A show spokeswoman said: “James Jordan was offered a role still on the show.

“It wasn’t to be partnered with a celebrity, but it was to be involved in specials such as Children in Need, that sort of thing. But he declined that. He was offered a reduced role on the show.”

Dancer Artem Chigvintsev, 31, who was partnered with soap star Natalie Gumede last year, will also not be returning after deciding to stay in the state-side after appearing in the US version of the show.

Anya Garnis, 32, will also not return to dance with a celebrity, but will remain part of the choreography team.

Two new faces, Tristan MacManus and Joanne Clifton, will step into their dancing shoes.

Irish-born Tristan MacManus joins Strictly after three years as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars in America, where he partnered former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.

Strictly favourite Australian Dance Champion Natalie Lowe will return to the dance floor after withdrawing from last year’s series due to injury.

Louise Rainbow, Strictly executive producer, said: “We’re delighted that Joanne and Tristan will be joining our fantastic cast of professional dancers this year and look forward to them becoming part of the Strictly family.”

“A huge thank you goes out to both Artem and James for being hard-working, dedicated dancers on the show, and we wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.”
